Writing Workshop For Photographers 2021

Are you a visual storyteller and feel that you need to learn the craft of writing?
Do you struggle to write about/around your visual works?
Do you struggle to pitch your photo stories to editors?
Are you in need of guidance to well structure your existing drafts?
You’re brilliant with images, now you want to learn the brilliance of writing?

Join us for this 3-days workshop (spread across 3 Sundays) with Pranaya Rana that hopes to guide you with your skills of using texts.

The workshop is divided into three online sessions (1.5 hours per session).

Session 1 (19 September 2021): Introduction to storytelling/journalism 101

This session will be about introducing the concept of story idea and story topic. Here the session will also guide you on looking for an angle in your story/writing. This session will also touch upon preliminary research in beginning your work and drafting a pitch for various purposes in your professional endeavors.

Session 2 (26 September 2021): Discuss ideas for writing

This session will be entirely for you to share your ideas of writing that you want to build during this workshop. You will be asked to come with at least 3 writing ideas that you want to work on for the workshop. You will receive feedback based on the format of the text, finding angles, doing research on it, etc.

Session 3 (3 October 2021): Discuss the final product

In this third and final session, we will discuss what everyone has written. And each participant will receive individual feedback on their works. Participants will mainly receive feedback on what works, what doesn’t, how to structure, relevant quotes, context/background, etc.
