Collectors Convention

Why do we collect things? How do our collecting practices relate to identity, culture, history and knowledge-keeping? How do our collections speak of our fears of loss and erasure?

This Saturday, Feb 3rd from 11 am – 4 pm at Nepal Art Council, Babar Mahal, we are hosting a gathering of collectors of seeds, matchboxes, farming tools, instruments, old photographs, coins, cassettes, bus tickets, and many other things. The event is free and open to the public. Please join us and help us spread the word!

This event is part of our 4-day symposium titled “Reimagining Museums in Nepal” organized in conjunction with our ongoing exhibition The Sovereign Forest by New Delhi-based artist Amar Kanwar in collaboration with Sudhir Pattnaik / Samadrusti and Sherna Dastur.
