Hamra Hajuramaharu is a story telling project with women of the hajurama (grandmother) generation as its pivotal ‘subjects’. The project is supported by the Embassy of Denmark in Nepal and aims to encourage photographers to work with writers in storytelling. Travel grants are awarded to 15 participating photographers and writers to enable them to visit grandmothers in different parts of Nepal. Stories will be published as a book and showcased as an exhibition and multimedia website in December 2009.
